[ Cardia can be found in the library today, not doing any manner of studious reading but just... resting her head on a table.

This week has drained her a wee bit. ]

[ Unsurprisingly, there's a small amount of people that Fane wants to check on after this week. It's the first time they've failed, really, and it had led to gruesome consequences all around. So. Considering he's not terribly phased by it since it's almost normal in Rivellon, his concern turns outward.

He finds Cardia in the library, and seeing her resting, he's careful in putting his hand on her shoulder lightly. He doesn't say anything in case she's sleeping, but the (very) light weight of his hand announces his presence simply. ]

[ She's not sleeping. She wishes she could sleep, but when he rests a hand on her shoulder, she slowly turns her head on the table. ]

Fane...

[ Hi. ]

Hello, Cardia.

[ He removes his hand to grab the chair next to her and pull it out to take a seat. ]

I suppose asking if you're well would be... ill-timed, shall we say. So instead, is there anything I can do?

Unless you have a method to turn back time...

[ Probably not. ]

[ He shakes his head, and he's about to offer a few soft words to that, but. He's surprised by what she adds, and he laughs ]

Did you? [ He definitely sounds impressed! ] My... Thank you. He did deserve it.

He did. And he rejected me, but I was angrier that he'd gotten you involved in the first place.
